It’s no secret that fruit is one of the healthiest types of foods you can eat. Rich in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and fiber, fruit can help people lose weight and get healthier. Over the years, many diets have incorporated fruit into their eating plans in an effort to improve people’s health, but Daniel’s Diet takes the fruit diet to the next level. This 10 day diet uses fruit as a way to shed pounds and get healthy fast.
10 Day Diet Overview
“Daniel’s Diet” was created by Philip Bridgeman. Bridgeman based his diet on Daniel from the Bible. According to the Bible, Daniel was offered with fatty but delicious foods during his time as a slave. However, instead of eating the unhealthy food, he maintained a diet of fruits, vegetables and water. He did this so he would be physically and spiritually healthy. His diet was challenged by the King, and Daniel convinced him to let him take part in a 10 Day challenge. For 10 days, he would continue eating his diet of fruits and vegetables, while the other slaves could eat whatever they wanted. At the end of the 10 days, he would be measured against the other slaves. The king accepted the challenge, and Daniel ate fruits and vegetables for ten days. At the end of the ten days, he looked better nourished and healthier than the other slaves.
Bridgeman used this information to create Daniel’s Diet.
10 Day Diet Plan
If you want to follow the 10 day diet, you need to stock up on fruit. You will be allowed to eat fruit every two to three hours. Fruit should be consumed at least five times a day. Remember, it has lots of healthy vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, so don’t skimp on your servings. Eat plenty of fruit so you can receive all of the benefits.
10 Day Diet Menu
Along with the fruit, you can add vegetables and nuts into some of your meals. You can pick from the following options:
- Artichokes
- Asparagus
- Beets
- Broccoli
- Brussels sprouts
- Cabbage
- Carrots
- Cauliflower
- Celery
- Corn
- Cucumbers
- Eggplant
- Garlic
- Kale
- Lettuce

- Onions
- Potatoes
- Peppers
- Radish
- Rutabaga
- Scallions
- Spinach
- Squash
- Sweet potatoes

Incorporate these foods into meals if you feel weak during the diet. However, remember that the more of these foods that you eat, the less weight you will lose, so don’t overdo it.
10 Day Diet Side Effects
While fruits and vegetables are healthy, you might experience some side effects while on the diet. The biggest problem most people have is a feeling of weakness. Fortunately, this is easy to combat. If you are feeling weak, eat some nuts during one of your meals. The protein in nuts will give you some energy back.
Some people also suffer from headaches when they follow this diet. In most cases, the headaches go away after a few days. If the headaches persist, replace one of your daily meals with a standard meal, such as lean chicken or turkey. You won’t lose weight as quickly, but you will feel better.
If you are sick of carrying around your excess weight, consider giving this 10 day diet a try. Daniel’s Diet can trim off some inches and help you look great.
